In order to enhance its flexibility and speed of response, GEIP has an introduced an Open Facility for Technical Assistance, which consists of an amount of money earmarked for upcoming needs of technical assistance outside of that provided by the three components of the program.
The range of activities to be funded includes:

Advisory services to the Ministry of Education (MoE)

Technical support for the MoE Technical office and its coordination unit

Short term consultants for capacity development and training courses

Conducting of studies
This facility is administered by GOPA, a German development consulting group.
